The estimate detail page is where you build, send, and track a single quote. It mirrors the invoice editor closely — line items, totals, dates — but with a different lifecycle (decision rather than payment).
Layout
- Header — estimate number, current status, total.
- Line items — each line with description, quantity, unit price, and line total. Edit inline.
- Totals — subtotal, tax, total.
- Dates — issue date and valid until.
- Linked opportunity — the deal this estimate belongs to. Status changes here can map to the opportunity's stage.
- Documents — attachments (signed copies, scope docs).
Common tasks
- Edit line items — add, remove, or adjust while the estimate is in draft.
- Set valid-until to a sensible date — enough time for the customer to decide, not so long that the price drifts out of date.
- Send when ready. Status moves to Sent.
- Track approval / rejection — the customer's decision flows back here. You can also mark it manually.
- Convert to invoice once the work is delivered. Vertiqa carries the line items and links the records so the audit trail is intact.
Tip
Don't edit a sent estimate's line items. Send a revision instead — the prior version stays on the record, and the customer can see clearly what changed.
