The job detail page is the operating surface for a single HVAC job — everything from initial assignment through status changes, on-site notes, voice calls, and documents.
Layout
- Header — job number, title, current status badge, and priority.
- Job metadata — type, scheduled date and time window, description.
- Assigned contact and tech — who the customer contact is and which technician owns the work.
- Service location — the physical site where the work happens.
- Estimates vs actuals — estimated cost and time alongside the actual numbers as the job progresses.
- Status history timeline — every status change with timestamp and who made it.
- Documents — attached photos, quotes, and invoices.
- Voice calls — recorded calls associated with the job (where available).
Common tasks
- Edit title or description.
- Update status as the job moves (pending → scheduled → in progress → completed → invoiced).
- Assign or reassign a technician.
- Add customer notes for the contact, and tech notes for the field team. Customer notes are the ones to share; tech notes are internal.
- Capture actual cost and time when the job closes — these are the numbers reporting will use against estimates.
Tip
If the actual cost or time materially differs from the estimate, leave a tech note explaining why. That's how the team gets better at estimating next time.
